Alison Corr

What is your earliest point-to-point memory?

I’d say going to Lemonfield with John Gleeson. He had a good horse called Wild Cat Mountain at the time and he won.

How did you get involved with horses?

My parents were always hunters along with my uncles. We’ve always been interested in horses. I didn’t get into racing for a while, I was late enough. I used to go to John Gleeson on Saturdays and when I was 17 or 18 he convinced me to get my licence then and I never looked back.

Who was your first winner?

Mrs Henderson for Flan Costello at Rathmorrisey point-to-point in Galway.

How do you relax outside of horses?

I don’t have much to do but horses. Films I suppose. I like going to the cinema.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Easy going, laid-back and a bit awkward.

Do you have any pet peeves?

The volume not being on an even number in the car or on the TV or anything. I’m quite superstitious.

Who is your biggest supporter?

It would be my parents. They’re very good to me. They don’t go at all to my races though! They just watch it on the TV but they support me nevertheless. They help me with everything.

Is there anything that terrifies you?

Heights and mice. I’d be out the gate if I saw a mouse.

What’s your worst habit?

I’ve an awful sweet tooth I suppose. It’s terrible for the weight.
