THE Tipperary Foxhounds are going all out to attract a large crowd to their meeting at Lisronagh next Sunday.

In addition to the regular programme, there will be a mile and a quarter side-saddle race on the flat for which entries closed yesterday. Confined to lady riders aged 18 or over and non-thoroughbred horses, the race is sure to prove very exciting.

During the afternoon, there will be plenty of time to shop and eat at the country food fair and there will prizes on offer for the most appropriately-dressed lady and gent. And don’t leave your canine friends at home as also scheduled is a dog show with classes for Jack Russell Terriers, any Terrier except Jack Russells, Gun Dogs and the Puppy I Would Like To Take Home.

Next Sunday, the West Waterfords are also racing at Boulta where last season the five and six-year-old geldings’ maiden was won by the Kieran Roche-trained Newtown Lad. That 2010 Craigsteel bay has since landed a hurdle at Hexham and a chase recently at Uttoxeter for the Lucinda Russell yard.
