THE first of the 2016/2017 meetings in the Cork/Waterford area takes place next Sunday when the Duhallows run their autumn fixture at their popular Dromahane venue. The programme for next Sunday has five maidens and an open on the card, just no adjacent maiden.

On Sunday as there is also racing at Ballinaboola (Wexford Foxhounds). Further up the country, the McGreal family is hosting the joint Westmeath & Longford fixture at Corbeagh House.

The northern region continues to support autumn racing with the staging of the Co Downs’ meeting at Loughbrickland next Saturday. The hunt didn’t hold an autumn fixture last year and this season’s card is similar to that of 2014 in that four maidens, a winners of two race and an open are being advertised.
