2.25 Wexford Racecourse Mares’ Maiden Hurdle 2m 4f
Point-to-point winner Auntie Lacey can take this opening race for local connections. Mid-division in a decent maiden hurdle at Leopardstown on her rules debut, the Paul Nolan-trained five-year-old disappointed when switched to a bumper last time. Stepped up in trip, with a set of hurdles in front of her, the daughter of Getaway can open her account.
Although yet to reach the frame on three runs over flights, Nashville Notions has shaped well enough to suggest she can be competitive. Paul Kiely’s five-year-old just about sets the standard here.
SELECTION: AUNTIE LACEY

3.00 Forth Mountain Trails Mares’ Handicap Hurdle 2m 4f
Recent Downpatrick winner Lilian Bland should be able to exploit a mark of 97 over hurdles. A dual winner over fences, the consistent nine-year-old can run off a 5lb lower rating in this discipline. A mare that is at her best when making the running, or racing up with the pace, the Niall Patrick Hennessy-trained daughter of Mountain High will be suited to this track. Runner-up on her last two starts, Bayou Belle has been getting closer to a breakthrough success. Having taken minor honours on three visits here last summer, the six-year-old deserves her turn.
SELECTION: LILIAN BLAND
Next best: Bayou Belle
3.35 Slaney River Handicap Hurdle 2m 1f
A Nod To Getaway can follow up last year’s win in this race. Paul O’Flynn’s eight-year-old arrives here in good form, having finished second at Cork on his most recent outing.
Travelling strongly, before taking over in front two out, he was only passed by a well-backed unexposed rival. Despite being raised 4lb as a result, the gelding can win this. Splendid Choice has been running well enough of late to suggest that he can win a race of this nature. Although yet to win from 13 attempts, the Philip Rothwell-trained gelding will surely get her turn shortly.
SELECTION: A NOD TO GETAWAY
Next best: Splendid Choice
4.10 Support The Irish Injured Jockeys Fund Handicap Hurdle 3m
Narrowly denied on her latest two starts, the Patrick Foley-trained Cullig can resume winning ways.
Successful at Cork in March, the daughter of Walk In The Park has found one too good on each of her recent outings. Despite being 4lb higher than for her latest run, the six-year-old should take beating over her optimum trip.
To The Wire has to enter calculations, having caught the eye when staying on to finish fourth at Fairyhouse. Making his handicap debut, the Philip Rothwell-trained gelding gave the impression that he would be well-suited to stepping up to this trip.
SELECTION: CULLIG
Next best: To The Wire
4.45 T.C. Cullen Memorial Novice Chase 2m
Course and distance winner Aspire Tower should record a second success at this venue.
Having opened his account over fences here last month, the nine-year-old was far from disgraced when fifth of 23 in a Listed Handicap Chase at the Punchestown Festival last time. Back in against fellow novices here, the Born To Sea gelding should take beating.
Henry de Bromhead’s Foxy Girl looks the main threat. Runner-up on her penultimate start at Naas, the mare ran another solid race when fourth at Cork recently. If there are any chinks in the favourite’s armour, she is the most likely to capitalise.
SELECTION: ASPIRE TOWER
Next best: Foxy Girl
5.15 SIS Supporting Irish Racing Handicap Chase 3m 1f 100yd
A three-time winner over hurdles, including at this track, Kiln Time is worth another chance. Pulled up on his only start over fences here in March, the David Harry Kelly-trained gelding shouldn’t be written off just yet.
While he does have to prove that he can replicate his hurdles form over the larger obstacles, he is undeniably well handicapped.
Riggs came back to something like his best form when scoring at Downpatrick last time. While it would be hard to be confident that the veteran can back up that performance, he would be dangerous if allowed an uncontested lead.
SELECTION: KILN TIME
Next best: Riggs
5.45 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares’ INH Flat Race 2m
Sent off favourite when second at Fairyhouse last time, Hello Jean can recover losses. The Willie Mullins-trained five-year-old travelled into contention on the bridle, before being outstayed inside the final furlong.
Dropping back in trip now should see the daughter of Flemensfirth register a first career victory under Jody Townend.
With Gordon Elliott farming bumpers in the early stages of the new season, Apples Jane has to be respected.
Having shown promise on all three starts to date, the daughter of Walk In The Park should soon get her head in front.
SELECTION: HELLO JEAN
Next best: Apples Jane
