GAVIN Cromwell has enjoyed Ascot success when Quick Suzy lived up to her name when winning the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes to give Cromwell and jockey Gary Carroll a first Royal Ascot success in June 2021.

Snellen then gave the team a second success when she won the Listed Chesham Stakes in 2023. She returned as a four-year-old last season with a fine effort when second as one of the higher weighted fillies, beaten a length in the 23-runner Kensington Palace Stakes (Fillies’ Handicap). Her third place return on her first race since last September in the seven-furlong Group 3 Al Shira’aa Racing “Mutamakina” Stakes at Leopardstown has been boosted by the winner City Of Memphis stepping up to Group 2 success at the Curragh.

Snellen

Duke of Cambridge Stakes (Wednesday)

We were happy with her reappearance when third in a Group 3 at Leopardstown and she’ll step back up to a mile in the Duke of Cambridge Stakes. She ran a cracker over a mile at the track last year when second in the Kensington Palace and won the Chesham as a two-year-old so she obviously likes it there and we are looking forward to it.

Quiet Mutiny

Sandringham Stakes (Friday)

She ran a good race when second in the Polonia Stakes on her return and wasn’t beaten very far at the Curragh on her handicap debut. We think the step up to a mile will suit in the Sandringham.
