DUE to a partial solar eclipse on Wednesday, race times for Gowran Park have been amended. The first race will be at 2.52pm (2.22pm if there is a divide), with the last race time at 5.52pm. The partial solar eclipse is due to occur from 6.14pm to 8.06pm with the maximum peak at 7.11pm. Wednesday’s card at Ffos Las has also been moved earlier in the day for the same reason.

JOCKEYS Eoin Staples and Leigh Roche will appear before the Referrals Committee at a future date, having tested positive for alcohol above the permitted level before racing at Galway last Sunday. Both riders accepted the test results and were stood down for the day.

QATAR Racing will succeed its parent company, Qipco, as title sponsor of British Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday, October 17th. Support for the seven-race £4.35 million card is guaranteed until 2028.
