Tattersalls Irish Guineas
FIVE colts have been added to the entries for the Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas at the second entry stage, and three fillies added to the 1000 Guineas.
The unbeaten Bow Echo, trained by George Boughey, heads the quintet added to the 2000 Guineas. The other four – Hidden Force, Distant Storm, King’s Trail and Pacific Avenue – are all trained by Charlie Appleby for Godolphin.
Appleby has also added the once-raced Abashiri to the Irish 1000 Guineas. The other two second entries for that race are recent Curragh winner Pollenca, trained by Andy Slattery, and the Joe Murphy-trained Alphecca.
The Tattersalls Irish Guineas Festival takes place on May 23rd and 24th.
ENTRIES are closing this weekend for the Goresbridge Point-to-Point and National Hunt Store Sale on April 23rd. The sale will feature a select group of point-to-pointers alongside National Hunt three-year-old stores. Ed Donohoe of Goresbridge said: “We would encourage anyone intending to enter to do so this week.”
Entries can be made via goresbridge.com or by calling (059) 9775145.
HRI Equuip has launched its National Workforce Survey. The survey invites participation from individuals across all roles in racing (stable staff, trainers, jockeys, breeders, racecourse staff, administration, media, et cetera) to shed light on key areas such as wages, working patterns, career pathways, and overall job satisfaction.
All responses are fully confidential and anonymised. The findings will play a critical role in informing ongoing industry development, helping to strengthen recruitment, retention, and career progression within Irish racing.
