ALL are welcome to view the next round of Irish EBF Barrier Trials at Leopardstown next Wednesday. Starting at noon, over 80 horses (mostly two-year-olds) will take part in up to 10 trials, organised by Irish Thoroughbred Marketing.
Andrew Kelly of ITM said: “We have a lovely mix of racing yards involved, including lots of smaller trainers. Ground conditions will be similar to the official going description last Thursday evening at Leopardstown, where they finished up on good to yielding.”
Video recordings and trial results will be available on the ITM website.
JOSEPH O’Brien’s talented three-year-old Greek Mythology is set to continue his career in Hong Kong, following a close-up second in listed company on Oaks day at Epsom.
Owned and bred by Al Shira’aa Racing, the Pinatubo gelding (rated 103) has now joined trainer Ricky Yiu, according to the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s latest import listings. He had previously finished third in the Listed Owenstown Stud Stakes at Naas.
Egyptian Pharaoh, who started his career in Ireland with Kevin Coleman before winning in Britain for Newmarket-based Oli Rix, has also joined Hong Kong connections.
THE winner of yesterday’s Coolmore Stud City Of Troy Nunthorpe Stakes at York will earn connections an additional trophy if the horse goes on to win the Bar 1 Betting Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh next month. The Golden Horseshoe Challenge Trophy was unveiled at York this week in a joint initiative by both tracks.
THE beautifully-bred and top-class racemare See The Fire will be offered at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale. Jeff Smith’s home-bred filly is by Sea The Stars out of the Dubawi mare Arabian Queen, a Group 1 winner herself.
A dual Group 2 winner and placed seven times in Group 1 company, See The Fire was the joint champion older female in Europe in the long-distance category in 2025.
LIMERICK Racecourse has advertised for a racing manager with a “minimum of 10 years’ experience in racing and racecourse operations”. The successful applicant will “oversee all raceday operations and develop plans to continue to enhance the spectator and guest experience” at the Greenmount facility.
