LIMERICK Racecourse is seeking a new chief executive following the departure of Michael Lynch from the post after two years in the role.

When appointed in the spring of 2024, Lynch became Limerick’s fourth CEO in just over two years. Patrick O’Callaghan stepped down from the position in late 2021 and was replaced by Emma White. She left after six months and was succeeded by Tom Rudd, who spent 18 months in office. The late Paddy Dunican also stood in as acting manager at one point. Limerick Racecourse was approached by The Irish Field for a comment.

Meanwhile, Sligo Racecourse is close to announcing the identity of its new general manager. Current incumbent Kathryn Foley plans to step down at the end of the year. Sligo stages a two-day meeting next Wednesday and Thursday. The feature race on Wednesday’s all-flat card is the €30,000 Connacht Oaks, while Thursday is Ladies Day. The track is being watered to maintain good ground.
