THIS year’s Hurling for Cancer Research match will will take place on Monday, August 24th at Netwatch Park in Carlow. It will be broadcast live on TG4.
Founded by trainer Jim Bolger and former jockey Davy Russell in 2011, the event has already raised close to €2 million for the Irish Cancer Society. It traditionally features two teams packed with GAA stars, past and present, sprinkled with other sporting personalities including a number of jockeys.
Centra is sponsoring the match again this year and branded milk cartons will roll out across Centra stores nationwide in the coming weeks. Customers can donate or buy tickets instantly by scanning the on-pack QR code.
Tickets are €10 for adults and €5 for children and are available for sale in selected Centra and SuperValu GAA ticket agent stores and via hurlingforcancer.ie.
