BREEDERS’ Cup winner Ethical Diamond is among the entries for next Thursday’s Group 3 Ballyroan Stakes at Leopardstown. The Willie Mullins-trained six-year-old escapes a penalty in the 12-furlong race, which the trainer won in 2023 with Vauban.

Ethical Diamond’s owners, the HOS Syndicate, are also represented in the entries by last year’s winner Sons And Lovers. Joseph O’Brien’s charge has a 5lb penalty having won (twice) at Group 2 level this season.

There are three British-trained entries - previous course winner Convergent for Karl Burke and the William Haggas-trained pair of Castle Cove and Tenability.

Thursday’s card also includes the Group 3 Bahrain Turf Club Desmond Stakes. The one-mile contest has attracted three British-trained entries, along with the Jim Bolger-trained Sparan Nua, who was last seen finishing third in the Irish Oaks.

Five international riders and one Irish rider will be selected to ride the top six horses in the Fegentri World Championship (QR) Handicap on the card.

The participating riders in the 15-furlong race are Britain’s Serena Brotherton (168 wins), Emelie Gustavsson from Sweden (45 wins), Sally Langhard from Switzerland (27 wins), Britain’s Cian Murphy (one win), Kenny Roussety from Mauritius (five wins) and Ireland’s Paul Cawley (16 wins).
