SUCH is the nature and timeline in standing a NH stallion that their worth is often only established long after they have died.

Ahead of the 2015 Festival, this could well be the case again as the recently deceased Stowaway looks set for a good meeting with Champagne Fever, Hidden Cyclone and Outlander in contention for some of the big prizes.

The leading sires at the last two Festivals look set for a successful time again. Last year’s top sire King’s Theatre is in a strong position with contenders in many of the big races, The New One, Kings Palace, Southfield Theatre, Glens Melody and Carlingford Lough backed up by novice hurdlers L’Ami Serge and Shaneshill.

Oscar has featured prominently in the last two seasons and is strong again with Jetson, Rock On Ruby and At Fishers Cross.

Beneficial, who topped the stats in 2013 is represented by Abbysial, Monksland and Annacotty while Milan has Grade 1 prospects with Apache Stronghold and Jezki along with Martello Tower and Join The Clan.

Shantou enjoyed Festival success with Ballynagour and Briar Hill, both of whom could be among the winners again along with Wounded Warrior and The Tourad Man.

British-based sire Kayf Tara has made great impact in recent years and could be in for a good Festival with Blaklion, Lieutenant Colonel, Special Tiara, Tea For Two and Value At Risk to represent him.

Should Very Wood line up in the four miler then Martaline is likely to supply two favourites with Bordini strong in the bumper.

Poliglote is responsible for Don Poli, Top Notch and Roi De Francs.

Flat sires who could also find themselves with a Festival jumping star include Kheylef (McKinley) Cape Cross (Devilment), Dubawi (Dodging Bullets) and Walk In The Park (Douvan).
