Wellington is easily the classiest sprinter in Hong Kong and he can assert his dominance in the Group 1 Chairman’s Sprint Prize (8am). He still had plenty left up his sleeve when winning last start and any improvement off that run should see him win for the second year in a row.

Up and coming Master Eight and the seven-year-old Hot King Prawn is still capable, while Sky Field is likely to be finishing fast.

In the Group 1 FWD QEII Cup (9.40am), Romantic Warrior steps up in grade after winning the BMW Hong Kong Derby. The Irish-bred son of Acclamation is the standout four-year-old with six wins from seven starts who looks well set up to go close.

Russian Emperor steps out after he was found to be lame last start, and his overall form gives him a big shout especially his clear Group 1 Hong Kong Gold Cup win over Savvy Nine in February. Savvy Nine is consistent for a place again. Cheerful Days steps up to 10 furlongs for the first time and enjoyed a remarkable ascent this season.
