NICOLAS Clement has done an exceptional job with The Juliet Rose who has had problems that kept her off the track for 10 months.
In a game manner, she won the Qatar Prix de Royallieu and Stephane Pasquier rode a highly professional race on the daughter of Monsun.
They made virtually every yard of the running in the Group 2 contest and refused to concede the lead to any of the other six runners.
The first three crossing the line were covered by under a length. Listen In was the runner-up in front of Kitesurf.
The Juliet Rose’s first run since winning this race last year came in the Prix de Pomone in early August which put her spot on for the Royallieu.
“The conditions were perfect for her today as she loves testing ground and Chantilly. We will now look at the Prix Royal-Oak or the Fillies and Mares Stakes at Ascot,” Clement reported.
Listen in did not have the best of runs in the straight but did press the winner right up to the line. Freddy Head said: “She didn’t have much room and is not a filly with much acceleration.”
