THERE was some other excellent racing during the afternoon when a couple of newcomers trained by Pascal Bary and ridden by Stephane Pasquier caught the eye.

Tale Of Life was awesome when taking the Prix Antivari by seven lengths and Fresque more workmanlike in the Prix Douve.

Carrying the Niarchos family silks of Flaxman Stables Ireland Ltd, Tale Of Life is a Japanese-bred son Deep Impact and his second dam is no less than the mighty Miesque so he already has a considerable value as a stallion later on.

Racing manager Alan Cooper commented: “We have a very high opinion of this colt who will be entered in all the European classics.”

Pasquier has also boosted his reputation this season after four rather lean years. On the 102 mark, it will be his best year since 2009 and he has also given Karakontie a brilliant ride to win the Breeders’ Cup Turf after taking the Poule d’Essai des Poulains on the same colt in May. The colt remains in training for 2015.
