LAST Sunday, all the main trials for the ‘48 Heures de L’Obstacle’ weekend on November 4th and 5th took place at Auteuil and trainer Guillaume Macaire was again amongst the winners. Although the dual Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris winner So French could only manage fifth place in the Grade 3 Prix Heros XII, he will be a different proposition in the Prix La Haye Jousselin.
James Reveley was not hard on the six-year-old who was giving lumps of weight away to the winner Bipolaire and the pair will be on level weights when they next meet. Reveley was also on board Device in the Grade 3 Prix Carmarthen. He ran on well to defeat Alex De Larredya and they will clash again in the Grade 1 Grand Prix d’Automne.
Macaire and Reveley also won the Grade 2 Prix Georges de Talhouet-Roy with Master Dino and this son of Doctor Dino, who cost just €11.000 at the Osarus sale, will now head for the Grade 1 Prix Cambaceres.
Macaire’s other Grade success came when Kevin Nabet partnered Edward D’Argent to victory in the Grade 3 Prix Orcada. The budding four-year-old chaser now head for the Grade 1 Prix Maurice Gillois.
