RYAN Moore excelled when he partnered Eminent (Frankel) to victory in the Group 2 Prix Guillaume d’Ornano Haras du Logis Saint-Germain. He led the other seven runners a merry dance from the start, which was completely mucked up by Brametot and not for the first occasion.

Moore kicked for home two out and had the race in his pocket shortly after. It was left to the 25/1 chance Salouen, trained by Sylvester Kirk, to chase Eminent home and he was three lengths adrift at the post, with Brametot a further six lengths away fifth.

Martyn Meade, the winning trainer, said: “He’s had several tedious races since the Craven victory. Eminent was hampered in the Derby and fought with his jockey in the Eclipse. We thought he might have to lead and he did it well. Today he showed his true value and we are thrilled. Eminent could either be targeted at the Champion Stakes at Ascot or come back to France for the Arc de Triomphe.”

IMPOSSIBLE

Rouget reported: “Brametot has started his races badly before. He was so far behind at the entrance to the straight and the winner is a good horse. It’s impossible to catch up in such circumstances and the straight at Deauville is shorter than the one at Chantilly. The colt was also a little rusty after two months without a run. I must discuss the future with his owners.”

The Group 3 Prix de Lieurey was the other group race on Tuesday and this went to Lady Frankel. She had a nightmare run in the straight but a cool Pierre-Charles Boudot managed to find a last-minute gap.

Tisbutadream and Moore looked to have the mile wrapped up one out but they were caught in the final strides and went under by a short-neck.

The Kildaragh Stud-bred Pursuing The Dream, ridden by Dougie Costello and trained by Jamie Osborne were 20/1 winners of the Listed Prix de la Vallee d’Auge-Etalon Kendargent.
