Dylan on form

ITALIAN star three-year-old Dylan Mouth came back to his best form when winning the Premio Federico Tesio at San Siro in Milan last Sunday.

Ridden by Fabio Branca and trained by Stefano Botti, he beat last year’s winner the four-year-old Biz The Nurse by an easy three lengths with Oil Of England third in the Group 2 contest over a mile and three furlongs on good ground

After winning the Italian Derby he had finished well down the field in the King Edward Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The three-year-old is by Dylan Thomas out of the Noverre mare Cottonmouth. Connections are keen to send Dylan Mouth to race outside of Italy again as they feel he didn’t show his true worth at Ascot. However, they are yet to announce any targets.

Azari a son of Azamour was an easy winner of the Listed Premio Vittorio Riva on the same card for Mirco Demuro and trainer Bruno Grizzetti.

Harley takes German Leger

Trainer Paul Harley landed the Group 3 Grosser Preis von DSW21 – 130th Deutsches St. Leger at Dortmund last Sunday with the three-year-old filly Kaldera ridden by Eddy Hardouin.

There were two British runner the best of which was the Mark Johnston-trained Special Meaning in fourth. The Michael Appleby-trained Macbeth was only eighth of the 10 runners on very soft ground.

The winning daughter of Sinndar had three quarters of a length to spare over the favourite Virginia Sun in the mile and six furlong contest.
