CHARLIE Appleby and William Buick continued where they left off from the Saturday when Godolphin filly Wuheida easily justified odds of 10/11 in the Group 2 Charm Spirit Dahlia Stakes on Sunday.
Successful in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf, she carried a Grade 1 penalty but moved up to take over passing the two-furlong pole and went four lengths clear of Wilamena at the line.
“She was still above her racing weight so she’s entitled to come on quite a bit for that,” Appleby said. “I’ll talk to His Royal Highness and we’ll decide whether to stay in Europe or go to America. Saratoga for the Diana Stakes or going to Deauville is a nice problem to have.”
More immediately, Wuheida is in the Duke of Cambridge or Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot.
