Exeter treble for Tizzard

COLIN Tizzard has had to wait for one or two of his stars to regain full fitness but the stable is in cracking form now and he dominated Exeter’s Sunday meeting with a splendid hat-trick.

The star was undoubtedly Vision Des Flos, 15/8, who was once with Robert Tyner but had disappointed to a degree before recent wind surgery.

This may turn out to be the making of him because he ran clean away with the Listed In Play Betting At 188Bet Novices’ Hurdle, pulling 31 lengths clear of 6/5 favourite Mercenaire in the hands of Tom Scudamore.

Vision Des Flos, in the Ann and Alan Potts colours, stays further than the bare two miles but obviously has a choice of engagements at Cheltenham.

He was the middle leg of the treble, Golden Sunrise and Paddy Brennan having taken the opening novices’ hurdle narrowly from Mount Rushmoore and Samburu Shujaa.

Later on, Elegant Escape justified his 4/6 SP by coming nicely clear of Ramses De Teillee in the three-mile graduation chase. Tom O’Brien was in the plate.

Irish raiders go close at Ayr

THE Potts colours were also seen at Ayr on Sunday, when Jim Dreaper’s Sizing Titanium started at 30/100 favourite for the toteexacta Novices’ Chase. There is little doubt he will make his mark in this sphere but he was surprisingly beaten by Andrew Hamilton’s 11/4 chance Bobbie’s Diamond in a three-runner race, the winner finding a sprightly turn of foot to go clear.

MCMANUS

Gordon Elliott had his eye on the totequadpot Novices’ Hurdle and his Cubomania looked the winner until 4/5 favourite Grand Morning battled on well to hold him by a neck. The winner, ridden by Derek Fox for Lucinda Russell, carries the colours of J P McManus.
