12.20 CASEY CONCRETE BLOCKS MAIDEN HURDLE 2M4F

Panther Soul needs to jump much better than he did on his hurdling debut at Gowran Park but, assuming those issues have been addressed, he should win this. A smart sort on the flat for Andy Oliver, he showed plenty of battling qualities on his sole start over jumps and can improve from that experience.

The Hunter Hoe has finished mid division in both starts over hurdles, hinting at enough ability to win races. While his best opportunity may well come in handicaps, this is a weak race and if the Mullins horse fails to perform, then he looks well equipped to take advantage.

SELECTION: PANTHER SOUL

12.50 CASEY TARMACADAM MARES HURDLE 2M4F

Sapphire Lady, who looks the Mullins first string on jockey bookings, might be good enough to win a tricky contest. Although she needs to bounce back from two disappointing runs, her earlier form should be strong enough to win a race of this nature.

Fiveaftermidnight looks to have plenty to do on official ratings but, on a couple of lines of collateral form, she could just cause a mild surprise. Her rider claims a very valuable 7lbs and she showed at Tipperary on her penultimate outing that she has the from to win a maiden hurdle.

SELECTION: SAPPHIRE LADY

1.25 CASEY CATTLE SLATS MAIDEN HURDLE 2M

Edelpour should have far too much class for his rivals here so anything other than an easy win would be disappointing.

A former high-class flat horse for Dermot Weld, he had finished second in two starts over hurdles for Alan Fleming before a nice return on the level recently. He won’t get many easier chances to shed his maiden tag so has to be a confident choice.

Notebook receives weight from the principals and was impressive in winning his point-to-point. While a maiden win should be a formality, he may just need a longer trip and is somewhat unfortunate to bump into an above average rival first time out.

SELECTION: EDELPOUR

2.00 CASEY ENTERPRISES HANDICAP HURDLE 2M

Wild Desire might be good enough to take this wide open handicap for the local Paul Nolan yard. A winner at Gowran Park earlier in the year, she has run well on occasions since then, including at this track over 2m4f. Dropping back to the minimum distance, with a hood added, may well bring about the improvement required to win her second race.

Eight And Bob has always looked a real stayer so the decision to run over 2m at Wexford seems a strange move. However, the champion trainer is a master at improving horses from other yards so it would be no surprise to see the five-year-old try to utilise his undoubted stamina by making most.

2.35 CASEY CONCRETE GOREY HANDICAP HURDLE 3M

Lady Of The Sea won over this course and distance during in July and has run well enough subsequently to suggest she remains well handicapped.

A staying-on fifth at Navan was highly encouraging, but dropping back to 2m4f last time proved her undoing. She faces ordinary opposition here and can give local punters something to cheer about.

Holy Motivation has to enter calculations after finishing second on her latest two runs and just getting into this grade. She has been well placed by her trainer and must go close now if repeating her earlier form.

3.10 CASEY BROS SUPPORTING THEIR LOCAL RACECOURSE BEGINNERS CHASE 2M4F

Peacocks Secret has crucial experience over fences and has finished second in one of his earlier efforts. He also boasts some of the better hurdles form of these runners so has to rate the most obvious choice under the excellent Rachael Blackmore.

Crazyheart, a former point-to-point winner, ran well in bumpers and over hurdles, so could go well now back over fences. It would be no surprise to see him made a bold bid for the local Paul Nolan yard.

SELECTION: PEACOCKS SECRET

3.45 CASEY PRECAST HANDICAP CHASE 2M4F

Gentleman Duke bumped into an improving sort when finishing second at Galway last time, so might be able to head his head back in front off just 2lbs higher. He had also shown more of his old spark at Downpatrick on his previous start and will be much better suited to this easier track now.

Neddyvaughan was an easy winner at Fairyhouse recently and 3lbs of his subsequent rise is offset by his rider here. A front-runner who finds plenty for pressure, he will really appreciate this tight track.

SELECTION: GENTLEMAN DUKE

4.20 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF MARES(PRO/AM)INH FLAT RACE 2M

Owenacurra Lass was deemed good enough to contest a Grade 3 bumper earlier in the year and ran some way below expectations on the day. She is clearly much better than that effort, as she had finished second to the winner earlier in the season.

While Declan Queally’s mare would probably be more at home on an easier surface, she should still be a leading player now.

Miss Chevious Girl has placed third on both her runs to date and now wears a first-time tongue-tie. If that aforementioned aid brings about any improvement then she will have leading claims.
