THE recent good run of Ballyash Stud’s resident stallion September Storm continued on Wednesday at Perth where the Lucinda Russell-trained Wind Of Hope won the opening maiden hurdle on his racecourse debut.

The six-year-old, who was bred at Ballyash by Gail Kidd out of the Topanoora mare Ciara’s Run, failed to win between the flags here but landed a maiden at Chaddesley Corbett last month for bloodstock agent Tom Malone.

Gail also bred the Swift Gulliver 10-year-old Accessallareas who recorded his fourth success over fences when winning at Newton Abbot last Tuesday for the Sarah-Jayne Davies yard.

Standing at the nearby Tullyraine House, Winged Love had a couple of winners recently with Hunt Ball recording his first success over hurdles, and his first victory for over two years, when landing a three-mile novice event at Fakenham last Tuesday week.

Bumper

The following day, Winged Crusader, won a handicap chase at Kelso. Bred near Lisburn by Christine Kelly, Grandmaster George, a son of the deceased Generous, scored on the first time of asking on Tuesday at Southwell where he won the bumper in the hands of Jerry McGrath.

The Seamus Mullins-trained six-year-old is out of the Grand Lodge mare Merewood Lodge who previously bred the four-time winner Fourth Generation (by Kris Kin).
