RACING at Downpatrick resumes next Wednesday, March 4th with a card comprising four hurdle races, an opportunity handicap chase and a bumper.

There is also a winners of one hunters’ chase on the card which takes its name from Nick O’Toole’s ‘Arkle Years Memorabilia Display’ which can be viewed during the afternoon.

The charity Irish Injured Jockeys will be the beneficiary of a raffle for which there is a prize of a limited edition Arkle print.

The track is taking the opportunity of next week’s meeting to launch the 2015 racing season at Downpatrick with emphasis on the Toals Bookmakers Ulster National which takes place on Sunday, March 22nd.

Wednesday will also see the track’s new caterers, Posh Nosh, looking after all food services. The Bangor company has built up an excellent reputation in recent years providing corporate hospitality at such events as the 2012 Irish Open (a leg of the European golf tour) at Portrush, last year’s Northern Ireland starting stage of the Giro d’Italia and the International North West 200.
