THERE was a Northern-trained winner at Dundalk last Friday evening when Andy Oliver sent out Paul Hardy’s home-bred Blue Shadow to justify favouritism in the BetVictor Apprentice Handicap in the hands of Siobhan Rutledge.

The four-year-old Hallowed Crown gelding, who was winning for the second time in his career, is the third of three recorded produce, and the only winner to date, out of the US-bred Blue Moonstone (by English Channel) whose Gustav Klimt yearling colt comes up as Lot 785 at Goffs’ Sportsman’s Sale next week.

Also on Friday, the Hardys Of Kilkeel-bred Los Camachos recorded his fifth success when landing the seven-furlong handicap at Kempton under Grace McEntee. The six-year-old Camacho gelding, who is trained by John Gallagher, is out of the Grand Lodge mare Illuminise, dam of four other winners.

Caledon-based Oliver was also among the winning trainers on Monday at Fairyhouse where his charge Got The Moves, a three-year-old filly by Vadamos, got off the mark in the seven-furlong Treo Eile Apprentice Handicap in the hands of Nathan Crosse.

At that same fixture, Natalia Lupini sent out her fourth winner of the season when the Shane Foley-ridden, Leslie Laverty-bred three-year-old Dandy Man gelding Dandyville got up close home to beat the 9/4 favourite, Lord Dudley, by a head.

At Hamilton on Monday, Downpatrick-born Paddy Mathers recorded his 15th success of the season when winning the six-furlong handicap on board the Richard Fahey-trained Absolute Dream. This five-year-old Dream Ahead gelding was bred outside Downpatrick by Brian and Ann-Marie Kennedy and is the only foal out of the winning Monsieur Bond mare Absolute Diamond.

On Saturday at Catterick, the Colin Kennedy-bred My Little Tip justified odds-on favouritism in the opening seven-furlong nursery where he was ridden by Saffie Osborne. Trained by George Boughey and enjoying his third victory, the Belardo colt is out of the Kodiac mare How Sweet It Is who is dam also of the dual winner, Critical Data (by Battle Of Marengo).
