AMONG the many Northern exhibitors at this week’s Dublin Horse Show was Caroline Dennison, whose Vechta gelding Black Ice finished seventh in the five-year-old young event horse class under Neil Morrison.

While commentating on the class, Chris Ryan alluded to Caroline’s fitness and mentioned the fact that she is joining Robert Hall on a 700km cycle ride from Paris to Nice in September to raise money for the Injured Jockeys Fund.

Incidentally, the class at Dublin was won by Derryinver Girl who is owned by Trevor and Steven Smith and was ridden by the latter. The Contador mare was bred outside Lurgan by David Campbell.

THE Jonjo Bright Trust is holding a hog roast barbeque in Templepatrick on Saturday, August 29th when a draw will take place for the on-going fundraising raffle, with the prize of a £5,000 holiday voucher.
