Lady Penelope has a good opportunity to get off the mark in the latest race in this excellent series. Joseph O’Brien’s filly put up a really encouraging debut when third to Punita Arora at Navan last month and any sort of progress from that outing, which is likely, should see her difficult to beat.

Her main opposition could be the Jessica Harrington-trained Shines Her Light, who has shown a decent level on both of her starts. Any juvenile filly from Harrington’s yard requires respect this season but Shines Her Light was well held last time and must concede 4lbs to the selection which makes things difficult.

SELECTION: LADY PENELOPE

2:35 Racing Again 29th August Nursery Handicap 5f

This nursery looks tight with 6lbs covering the six runners, but a mark of 78 could underestimate Invincible Diva. She went close to winning on her debut when just beaten by Mount Fuji (took his chance in the Phoenix Stakes yesterday evening) and then won at Down Royal, where the third, Helvic Dream, boosted the form by filling that placing again in a good maiden at Galway last week.

Invincible Diva’s latest run was a sixth in a listed race over this course and distance, in which she finished in close proximity to juveniles with a much higher rating that the one she races off today.

Captain Corcoran can give her most to do. He had shown only average ability in three maidens but was gelded before his previous run and that resulted with a better performance at the Curragh, where he was second to Latin Five. He is open to further progress now.

SELECTION: INVINCIBLE DIVA

Tide Of Time has come alive on his previous two runs, comfortably winning at Down Royal and then posting a good third to Buffer Zone in a valubale Curragh handicap on his latest start. Twice a winner last season, he has started to progress again this season and returning to five furlongs, representing a master trainer of sprinters, he looks worth chancing again.

Twenty Minutes finished ahead of the selection in that Curragh handicap but was well held by him over this trip on his penultimate run. Sun Sign is the real unexposed runner in the field and could go by his mark of 70, but more interesting is Sunset Nova who ran an excellent race when upped to seven furlongs at Galway, possibly just running out of steam late on. Andrew Slattery’s three-year-old can do much better back at this trip now.

SELECTION: TIDE OF TIME

Next best: Sunset Nova

3:40 Coolmore Caravaggio Stakes (Listed) 7½f

The two Aidan O’Brien-trained colts, Harpocrates and Royal County Down, set a good standard for this listed contest but it might come down to the two debut winners, Justifier and Vitalogy.

Justifier showed a good attitude to collar Potala Palace and Armoury, who in particular has done plenty for the form, however the vote goes to Vitalogy. There seemed less expected of Joseph O’Brien’s colt first time up at Naas but he really got going late on to beat two juveniles with previous experience, Arranmore and the reopposing Harpocrates, who has won since. The step up to seven furlongs looks like it will suit the son of No Nay Never and he can put up a bold show.

SELECTION: VITALOGY

Next best: Justifier

All The Mollies could be the one. Tom McCourt’s mare has had a few problems through her career and is reappearing after another long layoff (98 days) tomorrow, but can go well off a mark of 48. When she was last seen, she performed with credit, chasing home Lady Scathach at Gowran Park and pulling over three lengths clear of her other rivals. She is 6lbs below her previous winning mark and if she is in good shape, this looks a good opportunity for her.

Coffeemeanscoffee won at Naas last time and can go well from 7lbs higher but Balletto, representing the in-form Emmet Mullins team, is less exposed and performed with credit on her handicap debut at Killarney. She could progress on just her sixth ever run and third for her current trainer.

SELECTION: ALL THE MOLLIES

Kiss For A Jewel is beginning to become a little frustrating and can be taken on. Dedillon ran nicely at Galway for Andrew Slattery and would have chance if progressing again, but Queen Amidala gets the vote. She was no match for the very impressive Lancaster House at Galway last Saturday, but progressed from her first run by finishing third. She looks worth chancing to improve again on just her third start.

For Your Eyes is another who is beginning to frustrate but has a chance on her best form, whereas Enticed, a Galileo filly, could be anything, now making her first start at three. She was last seen finishing sixth in a good maiden in which Trethias and Pink Dogwood finished first and second at the Curragh.

The Moyglare filly Midnight Sunshine, a daughter of Megdalia d’Oro out of Princess Highway, is another to note on her debut.

SELECTION: QUEEN AMIDALA

Next best: Enticed

Walkabout rates a confident selection for this lady riders’ handicap. Gordon Elliott’s gelding was last seen finishing third to Ming Dynasty in a valuable handicap hurdle at Bellewstown but it is his flat form prior to that run, which suggests he has a big chance.

In particular, his second to the very well-handicapped Eight And Bob over this course and distance in June reads very well. That form was given a boost with the third, Linger, winning over hurdles and on the flat at Galway last week.

Adnap is interesting, having moved to Dermot McLoughlin’s yard and he has scope to improve, with a mark of 65 not too taxing.

Danehill Quest has finished second on two of his last three runs and so comes here in good form. He also has form on soft ground which could bode well if the forecast rain arrives.
