Absolutely no need to voice an opinion about the Derby DQ. It’s about a 50/50 consensus throughout the industry and otherwise. FTR I thought it was the right call. But Saez being suspended is absolutely ABSURD. Just WRONG.

Saez suspended 15 days might be the biggest joke of the entire Derby Debate. The guy did everything right, soon as his horse moved he corrected it the best and fastest way possible. No matter if he was stepped on or spooked the rider did everything right in correcting him.

Tough day for Irish jumps racing for Gigginstown to announce they are to stop buying young stock. Their huge investment over the years has not got the credit it deserves. Hopefully a temporary measure.

Lots of people are saying that this is great news, it really isn’t. Gigginstown invest so much money into Irish racing and give great confidence to breeders and point to point trainers that they will be rewarded for their efforts.

This will have a huge impact on Irish racing.

You’re not dealing with the fact that there’s still JP, Ricci, Munir & Souede, Wylie, Sullivan Bloodstock. Plus, there’s no guarantee the horses at future sales will be trained in Ireland. That’s not a good thing.

Juvenile sprinters going to stud and middle distance types gelded with handicaps in Europe and Australia as their targets. Is this the future?

Interesting that both Sir Dragonet and Telecaster were originally entered in the Derby as yearlings but were scratched just two months ago when connections decided not to pay the latest £1,100 forfeit stage fee. To supplement now costs £85,000.

The last horse I seen win like Dlauro at a back end of season bumper at punchestown was the mighty Faugheen... Looks a weapon.
