Gosden plays late

LOOKING back at the last few seasons, Enable first saw a racecourse in a Newcastle maiden on November 28th last year.

Two more Gosden Group 1 winners, Jack Hobbs first appeared on December 27th at Wolverhampton while Golden Horn made his debut on October 29th. So much for ante-post classic betting based on two-year-old classic trials.

Leading ladies

AFTER Enable’s brilliant Arc victory we were amused by one tribute which contained the line: “With the fairer sex generally not having as tough a constitution as colts as well as being open to detrimental hormonal fluctuations throughout the season.”

In the red corner representing the pundits, Cracksman and the colts - Kevin Blake. In the blue corner, representing Enable and the Galileo fillies - Found. Let battle commence.

Sri......who?

A total of 17 yearlings making over 1 million guineas was an incredible figure at Tattersalls this week. There was also some diversity in the purchasers though a few people queried who was this ”Leicester City owner”. Why not use his name?

But then you realise that using the name Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha more than once is going to take up a lot of characters.

Pointing Rules

ANYONE find a touch of irony that Gilbamboa, a nine-year-old former Grade 1 winner, rated 159 when he last ran, is due to run in a point-to-point race where a horse called Change The Rules is also entered?

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“We’re happy to be pushing the boundaries the whole time. You’re chasing the holy grail of improvements and we’ll think of something to push it on another bit.”

Tom Ryan, Naas manager as the exciting redevelopments begininng to take shape at the track.

Replying to @Mrjj321Matt I would like to go to Dubai Carnival and Breeders Cup. And now that I’ll be 4, I can run at Laytown over 7f. We all have a bucket list

Utterly dominant and brilliant filly - she IS a modern great #enable

Marten Julian @martenjulian

Thought it rather apposite that former Champion Hurdle winner Jezki won just minutes after Enable took the Arc. The old friends are back.

So cool to see the old spark back in the former chap!! #JEZKI
