Ireland can be proud of how everyone has dealt with Covid19 and no doubt many lives have been saved. Let’s hope racing can do its bit for the economy and we can get back to action soon. All our team are ready to go and it can be done safely. We are ready to go! Crossed fingers.

Many thanks to @martinheydonfg for his statement and support today. Irish Racing stables, staff and racecourses practise “bio security “ as per the norm on a daily basis, they have already shown they can practise “behind closed doors” safely.

An excellent letter by Arthur Moore in @ITletters reasoning how important it is to get racing back on without delay. As a country we have worked hard to have an advantage and should not loose it. It has been proven racing can be run safely behind closed doors.

The strengthened protocols by @HRIRacing make a strong case 4 a safe swift return of Irish Horse Racing. A critical issue for an industry that employs 1,000’s across Ireland; Key politician calls for racing resumption with equine sports activity to start.

Richard Hughes@RHughesracing

I’m sure racing is outdoor and if people are in a safe environment I can’t see why we can’t start racing . There are more people working in food factories under the same roof than there will be at a racecourse

Don’t shout, as for all my faults (many), I know my life has been blessed with luck, as well as trying hard too. But if we are now trying to virtually eliminate risk from life, any risk, then we’re all in for a very long wait, too long actually.

RC was inoculated earlier this year and had been booked with IRT to fly to the UK on 20/5 to contest the Derby on 6/6. Unfortunately COVID has intervened and as yet there is no confirmed date for this year’s Derby.
