Tom Ryan @TomRyanKY

We’re currently in a crisis situation, nobody should feel unaffected, @keeneland & @ChurchillDowns are just about to come under the same scrutiny as California. Horse Racing needs a commissioner, someone to speak for the industry. It’s time for tracks & states to come together.

John Berry @JohnWathenBerry

The jockeys’ ranks will be a lot poorer for the absence of @Franmberry. A top-class rider with a great racing brain, whose professionalism ranks second to none. He’ll be a big success in whichever roles within the sport that he chooses henceforth. Very best wishes for the future.

Brendan Powell @bpowell13

Always sad when a sportsperson has to retire through injury, when still at the top of their profession. Will be sad not to watch @Franmberry ride again. Played a big part in our yard when he arrived 3 years ago, and also when we had runners in Ireland. A true professional.

Pat Smullen @patjsmullen

Happy retirement to @Franmberry sad day but the future is bright very intelligent fellow that will be successful in whatever he chooses to do.

I am completely overwhelmed by the calls and goodwill messages, thank you everyone. Still has not sunk in! Great work by my whole team. @OracleBloodstck for picking him out, imperial Racing, Jose and this great horse! Thank you all so much!

Harris D. Auerbach @AuerHeat

We in racing all know that. But to the public, we are whipping horses which is viewed as unacceptable behavior. Even other horse disciplines frown upon it. It’s a reality of the world we live in. If racing wants to survive, it has to adjust, not the other way around.
