HANDICAPPERS

I’ve entered Avant Tout in the handicap hurdles and it will be interesting to see what mark he gets. He won a two-mile chase on good ground and he has won a three-mile hurdle. He could go anywhere.

We’ll see how Great Field is treated. Blood Cotil might go for a handicap chase. Dicosimo is an interesting one for a handicap.

He’s fine after his fall. He could go for the Coral Cup but he might go for the County. Blood Cotil has got entries and could run in one of them.

McKinley looks a definite for the novice handicap chase (Close Brothers Novices’ Handicap Chase) on the opening day. I think he could be a horse that could be nicely handicapped and could improve.

Arbre De Vie, Children’s List, Clondaw Warrior, Kalkir and Petit Parisienne are in the Coral Cup and they could all go there. Blazer will either go Coral Cup or the Martin Pipe. I like him for the Martin Pipe.

We have a lot in the Martin Pipe and it’s a race that’s been good to us.

I thought Blazer could be the one. Great Field is also in that so we’ll see if he might get in.

Burgas is more a chaser but we’ll see what sort of rating he gets and he’s a horse that has improved immensely.

We’ll see what weight Voix Du Reve gets in the Fred Winter. If he gets a weight and is qualified, he’ll probably go there.

I might let Urano take his chance in the Kim Muir.

Patrick (Mullins) might be keen on Sambremont if he got a nice weight in that, but he is also in the four-mile and the Irish don’t seem to have a very good record in the Kim Muir for one reason or another.

Ivan Grozny is one we’re trying to get into the County Hurdle.

Townshend might also go for the County.
