JESSICA Harrington has a fine team of horses to go to war with this season and looking back over the last couple of months, it is quite an achievement for a trainer to win Grade 1s at Aintree and Punchestown with Jezki and within a few weeks, saddle two fillies to finish in the first five in the Irish 1000 Guineas

“We have some lovely horses for the flat and I appear to have more two-year-olds this season which is great. I seem to have some nice colts, but they look a nice bunch and I think quite a few of them will win their maidens,” she reported.

“It is very competitive and you need good owners to send you the horses and I am very lucky in that I have great owners and the two fillies (Jack Naylor and Bocca Baciata) both ran very well in the Irish 1000 Guineas.

“The cold weather has meant that a few of the fillies have yet to come to hand - they all need a bit of sun on their backs, but it is the same for everyone and we just have to be patient. But I’d like to think that we have a nice bunch of flat horses and hopefully they’ll perform well for us this season.”

OLDER HORSES

BARNACLE BILL

3yo gr c (31)

Big Bad Bob - Katch Me Katie

Mill House LLC

He is a fine horse and he is a half-brother to Pale Mimosa. He didn’t run last year as he was big and backward. But he ran very well when third in a maiden at Leopardstown and he won at Tipperary on Thursday. I think he’ll step up in trip and I can see him getting a mile and six. I think he’ll win his maiden as long as there is a little dig in the ground. I wouldn’t run him on quick ground. I think he’ll continue to develop and improve with racing.

BOB’S THE BUSINESS

3yo b g (08-672)

Big Bad Bob - Danzelline

Anamoine Limited

He is a nice horse and he ran very well at Listowel last Sunday. Hopefully he’ll win a handicap and he seems to handle most types of ground. He is probably just a handicapper, but he is a good solid horse and I think he’ll pay his way well in his own grade this season.

BOCCA BACIATA

3yo b f (431-15)

Big Bad Bob - Sovana

Flaxman Stables Ireland Ltd

I have been delighted with her this season. She won the Salsabil Stakes at Navan and she was fifth in the Irish Guineas. Her form is rock solid and we might try and win a group race with her before we try her again in a Group 1. The Irish Oaks may well come into the equation for her - I haven’t made up my mind yet. She is a very good filly and she will get a mile and a quarter and she seems to go on any ground. The form of the race at Navan has worked out very well and I’d like to think that she will win a Group 1 this year. She is a big filly so I wouldn’t be keen to run her on very fast ground.

BOLD BID

3yo b g (4)

Big Bad Bob - Magpie

Miss Kate Harrington

He ran a nice race at Dundalk and I was happy enough with him. Everything just happened a bit quick for him and hopefully he’ll run in a mile and a half maiden at the Curragh on Sunday. He wants a bit of nice ground and I hope it won’t be too soft for him at the weekend. He will get a mile and a half and in time, he might get a bit further.

BOOM BOX

3yo b g (3)

Big Bad Bob - Dona Alba

Anamoine Ltd

I was delighted with him at Listowel last Sunday. He was very green and he was drawn nine of nine that day. He came home well and I think he’ll improve a good bit for that and I can see him winning a maiden over a mile. He is a nice horse and there should be more to come from him.

BUYER BEWARE

3yo br g (13)

Big Bad Bob - Adoring

Anamoine Ltd

I have been delighted with him and he won at Killarney and he was third in what was a good winner’s race at Gowran last week. He could go to the Curragh for a handicap on Sunday and I think he could improve into a nice horse for us. I’d say he’ll get a mile and a quarter and he could develop into a stakes horse for us later on this year.

DANCING NORETTA

3yo b f (030-)

Big Bad Bob - Shaimaa

Kleentech Limited

She has been a bit slow to come to hand. This weather hasn’t helped the fillies at all, but she is entered for Fairyhouse and Leopardstown next week and hopefully she’ll run. She was a very good third in a maiden at Dundalk, but she had gone over the top on her final start. She is getting there now and she will get a mile and a half. She likes good fast ground.

GREGORIA

3yo b f (631359-)

Holy Roman Emperor - Queen Padme

Mr Chris Humber/Amanda Brudenell

She has come to me from William Haggas’. She is a nice filly, but not over big. She arrived here at the end of April and I’d imagine it will be a month or so before she runs. She has pleased me though at home and is doing everything right on the gallops.

HURRICANE RIDGE

6yo b g NH: (54115U-0) F: (133/6471-6)

Hurricane Run - Warrior Wings

Lakeside Racing Syndicate

He is a great horse for us and he will do a bit of everything for the summer. He will run at Leopardstown on Friday and he will run away over hurdles and fences. He loves good ground and he should pay his way well under all codes.

JACK BLUE

3yo b g (0650)

Duke Of Marmalade - Key Secure

Miss Kate Harrington

He is a nice horse and he wants good ground. He was just a bit all at sea the last time he ran in a handicap at the Curragh on Guineas weekend. He is better than that and he’ll go back for a maiden possibly over a mile and a half. He will have improved for his last run and I think he is a horse that could be competitive in a maiden over a mile and a half.

JACK NAYLOR

3yo b f (521113-46)

Champs Elysees - Fashionable

Gerard Byrne

She has been great. She was very good throughout last season and I was thrilled with her first run of the season in the Irish Guineas. All her form from last year has been franked and that form stood up very well at the Curragh. A mile is probably a minimum for her and she will take her chance in the Oaks at Epsom. She was doing her best work at the finish in the Irish Guineas and you’d imagine that depending on how Epsom goes, then she could go to Ascot for the Ribblesdale and then possibly go back to the Curragh for the Irish Oaks. She is a high class filly. There is always a doubt as to whether a filly like her will train on as she is quite small, but everything has gone very well with her so far and she has a great attitude in that she tries so hard.

KABJOY

4yo b f NH (188-44) F: (21762-20)

Intikhab - Lunar Love

Favourites Racing Syndicate

She will do a bit of everything. She likes the good ground and she will run away in those middle-distance handicaps on the flat. She should pay her way well.

LAKE CHAMPLAIN

3yo b g (045-584)

Manduro - Fantasy Girl

Anamoine Ltd

I was delighted with his run at Navan the other day (when fourth). That was the first time that he got his ground this year and he finished out his race very well. The first four pulled a nice bit clear of the rest and you’d like to think that he will win a handicap over a mile and a quarter/half. He does stay well and he is a half-brother to Big Bad Bob and there should be more to come from him.

MARSHALL JENNINGS

3yo b g (223123-0)

Lawman - Zuniga’s Date

Carmichael Jennings Partnership

He was very unfortunate at the Curragh as he was nearly put out through the rails when coming with his run - I think he’d have been involved. He has come out of the race very well and he has a couple of options at the Curragh at the weekend. He was a free horse when he came to us and that is why he wears the hood. He could be a nice horse and he had some nice form in England before he came to us in the spring.

MODEM

5yo b g NH: (U513220-) F: (/344527233-)

Motivator - Alashaan

Turlough Blessing

He is just back in after his holiday since Cheltenham. He could be a nice horse for those good handicaps over a mile and a half plus on the flat. He does like a little bit of ease in the ground and the Galway Hurdle is the main aim for him this year.

NEVERUSHACON

4yo b g NH: (4-) F: (364-120)

Echo Of Light - Lily Beth

Richard Galway

He might run at Leopardstown over a mile and seven on Friday. He got a bit lost in a handicap the last day and he will go over hurdles fairly soon, possibly next Monday at Roscommon if he doesn’t run on the flat. He is a fine, big horse and he likes a bit of nice ground. He should pay his way well.

NEWBERRY NEW

3yo b g (0-3533)

Kodiac - Sunblush

N. Carter

I was delighted with his run the last day at Naas in what was a good maiden. That was his first time over a mile and a quarter and he’ll go back to Naas for another maiden. He is rated 87 now and he is well capable of winning a maiden and he has bumped into some smart horses. He is a lovely horse and he will probably get a mile and a half in time.

ODE TO PSYCHE

4yo b f (752925167-85)

Dansili - Quan Yin

Flaxman Stables Ireland Ltd

She is a grand filly and she ran at Tipperary on Thursday. She is in foal and she has a good bit of time left - until Galway at least. I’d like to think that she’ll win a handicap or two before she is retired.

OUT OF CONTEXT

3yo b f (-39)

Intikhab - Context

Mrs P.K. Cooper

She had a very good first run, but she was in season at Killarney the last day. She appears to be in good form again now and we’ll find an auction maiden for her over a mile and a quarter. Based on her first run, she looks up to winning a maiden.

PRINCESS ALOOF

4yo b f (56351070-11368)

Big Bad Bob - Little Miss Diva

Exors Of Late John Harrington

She has been great this season and she has won her two handicaps already this year. She goes as a travelling companion to Epsom with Jack Naylor and she will get a little break after that. If the handicapper is kind, there is another couple of races to be won with her.

PRIVATE PARTY

3yo b g (608102-623)

Big Bad Bob - Meduse Bleu

Mrs John Harrington

He was very unlucky not win at Limerick. He won his maiden last year and he has been placed in a couple of handicaps. He is a nice fun horse to have and he will run away in those three-year-old handicaps for the rest of the season.

RAE’S CREEK

5yo ch g NH: (1P-) F: (6425/1-)

New Approach - All’s Forgotten

J.P. McManus

He is back with me and he will mix it over hurdles and the flat. He isn’t too far off a run and he should pay his way.

UNYIELDING

3yo b c

Oasis Dream - Victoria Cross

Mill House LLC

He has yet to run and he could start off in a maiden in the next week or two over a mile. He is a very big horse but he goes well and I like him.

TWO-YEAR-OLDS

BRING THE BOTTLE

B f (6)

Big Bad Bob - Sticky Green

Mrs P.K. Cooper & Richard Galway

She is a nice filly that has had the one run but she has started to grow. We have had to back off her a bit but I like her.

LOVE IS ALL AROUND

gr f (49)

Zebedee - Shauna’s Princess

Love Is All Around Syndicate

She is a real sprinter and needs to go back to five furlongs. I think she will win on top of the ground over a fast furlongs around the likes of Down Royal or Tipperary.

ROCKAWAY VALLEY

B c (2)

Holy Roman Emperor - Sharapova

Mill House LLC

He ran very well when second on his first start and he has come out of that race very well. I’d like to think he will go close on Sunday. We’ll see how Sunday goes but I think he could be a nice two-year-old.

UNRACED

BRAVER THE BULL

B c

Big Bad Bob - Danzelline

Anamoine Limited

He won’t be ready to run for a while. He just grew a bit so we gave him a bit of time. He is a typical Big Bad Bob horse in that he is very straightforward.

Another that is a little bit off a run, but he goes well and he could start off around August time.

MISS GOSSIP

B f Big Bad Bob - Cabin Point

She is one of my own and she is by a great sire. She will run shortly and she goes nicely and she might start off at Leopardstown next week. I’d like to think that she’ll be competitive in her maiden.
