EVANA MCCUTCHEON

MAAREK

Weatherbys Ireland Greenland Stakes

9yo b g (342512000-357)

Pivotal – Ruby Rocket

We had toyed with the option of bringing him to France, but that turned out to be a very good race so he’ll head to the Curragh for the Greenlands. He does need it on the easy side though so we’ll be keeping an eye on the weather.

He likes the Curragh and I suppose he might be a better horse over five as he still has loads of boot, but he does take a bit knowing so I am hoping that Jamie will ride him, as he knows him so well. He just needs the breaks and if he gets them, I think he can run a big race. He seems to be in great form.

DON’T TOUCH

Weatherbys Ireland Greenland Stakes

4yo b g (11111-1)

Dutch Art – Expressive

He seems to be in great form and he has an option of running at Windsor, but he will more than likely run at the Curragh.

He has progressed with every run and to be honest, he hasn’t really surprised me. He goes on any ground bar extremes, but this will be a proper test for him. This is the premier league and it will be a very big test for him.

THE GREY GATSBY

Tattersalls Gold Cup

5yo gr h (242236-)

Mastercraftsman – Marie Vison

He is in good form. He is working nicely and it would be nice to get a run into him before Ascot. This race looks an ideal starting off point for him, but he does need good ground so we’ll keep an eye on the weather. He has developed into a great servant for us and he is in great shape.

ASHADIHAN

Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas

3yo b f (129-1)

Kyllachy – Miss Delila

She is in good form and she won a Group 3 very nicely the last day at Newbury. She wants good ground or better to be seen at her best. If there is any soft in the ground neither horse will run, but we’ll keep an eye on the weather and see how much rain they get.

KEN CONDON

SUCCESS DAY

Tattersalls Gold Cup

4yo gr c (11107-22)

Jeremy – Malaica

He needs an ease in the ground but if the ground is suitable, he’ll run on Sunday. This will be his last run for a while and we’ll leave him off for a break and bring him back for an autumn campaign. He is in good form and he has improved with each run and his homework would suggest that he has improved again. It looks a very good renewal and he ran well behind Found the last day, but he will meet her and Fascinating Rock on less favourable terms at the weekend. But I am happy for him to take his chance as long as the ground is suitable.

Sakhee’s Secret – Irish Light

He ran very well the other day at Navan. He just didn’t get the breaks but that is just him. He has been running consistently well and we know that he likes the Curragh. He seems to handle any ground bar extremes and he has come out of Navan in great form. He goes there with his chance and hopefully the breaks will come his way.

BOLD THADY QUILL

Irish Stallion Farms EBF Habitat Handicap

9yo ch g (/5926153869-045)

Tale Of The Cat – Jazzie

He ran a nice race at Naas where he came home well, but he gets very little help from the handicapper and he probably needs some at this stage of his career. In saying that he was placed in this race last year and he seems to cope with most types of ground.

He will have come on for his run at Naas where he didn’t enjoy the clearest of runs. I’d say the step back up to a mile will help him and he seems to be in super form.

MAGNIFICATION

Elusive Pimpernel Maiden

2yo b g

Equiano – Ursula

He is a talented horse who I think us up to winning a maiden. He works well, but he has been a little difficult at the stalls. We will work on that this week, but he is a horse that we like and the plan is that he’ll start off on Sunday.

TOM HOGAN

GORDON LORD BYRON

Weatherbys Ireland Greenland Stakes

8yo b g (/988113306045-8)

Byron Boa – Estrela

He is healthy and well and he went well up The (Old) Vic on Tuesday. He seems a much healthier horse this year and for that reason, I think he might just need the run on Saturday. He is a good bit heavier than he was this time last year, but we’ve had a clear run with him this year and I am very happy with him. It looks a serious race and I’d say that it will be the best sprint run in Ireland for a long time.

HUGO PALMER

GALILEO GOLD

Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas

3yo ch c (21113-1)

Paco Boy – Galicuix

It makes me nervous to even talk about it, but he has been without fault since Newmarket. He has eaten every oat that he has been given. His work has been as exceptional as it always has been and he looks bigger and stronger. All the signs are that he has improved for his run at Newmarket. Every time the stable door opens I am terrified, but I have been very happy with him. It is a hugely prestigious race and I am really looking forward to it. The Curragh has been a happy hunting ground for me, but we have to go out and do it. There will be no hiding place in a Group 1 and he needs to go there as good, if not better than he was at Newmarket.

TIME TEST

Tattersalls Gold Cup

4yo b c (/11410-)

Dubawi – Passage Of Time

I have been pleased with his preparation. We had a slow start to the season with all the soft ground and it has been difficult to get the horses ready.

But he worked well on Saturday and as long as the ground remains on the quick side if possible, he’ll go to the Curragh. We flirted with the idea of running him over a mile and he was in the Lockinge, but in hindsight we all know how impressive he was at Ascot last year. He clearly stays a mile and a quarter well so we’ll head to the Curragh. I would expect him to improve for the race and hopefully he’ll have a long season with Royal Ascot being the main target.

NOW OR NEVER

Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas

3yo b f (2129-21)

Bushranger – Queenofthefairies

She has a massive chance in the 1000 Guineas on Sunday. Kieren loves the filly and believes a lot in her, so it’s great he keeps the ride. I’d have no doubt she’ll get the straight mile at the Curragh. She’s second favourite and we think she’s a massive chance.
