New sponsorship for stores under €30,000

TATTERSALLS Ireland, along with the European Breeders Fund, have agreed to sponsor a fantastic initiative whereby there will be six auction maiden hurdle races confined to horses sold as three or four-year-old stores for less than €30,000. These races are worth €20,000 each with prize money for the first five home. With a first prize of €12,500 to the winner of one of these maiden hurdles and two races confined to mares only, a winning mare if eligible for the ITBA Mares Scheme can earn a further €5,000 on top of the €12,500. There is a great opportunity to buy a filly at a store sale this year and win €17,500 as a four, five or six-year-old.

With six races, the series starts at Listowel on September 11th and will also feature races at Gowran Park, Cork, Galway, Navan and conclude at Punchestown on November 19th. This is a fantastic opportunity for purchasers who find it difficult to buy at the higher end of the scale but could buy at between €800 and up to a definitive ceiling of €30,000 to run in one of six races.
