HAVING sired his first winner of an Irish point-to-point at Loughbrickland just over a week earlier, Ballyash Stud’s September Storm was on the mark again at Loughanmore on Easter Monday when newcomer Mia’s Storm landed the Houstons Coachworks five-old mares’ maiden under Noel McParlan.

The bay, who is trained by Stuart Crawford for her Moy, Co Tyrone breeder Philip Gilmore, is the first foal out of the Zaffaran mare Letitia’s Gain, a half-sister to Ridgewood Water (by Over The River), who won two chases and was third in the Galway Plate, and to the seven-time winner Comanche War Paint (by Commanche Run).

Philip has retained the dam’s three-year-old by Exit To Nowhere and her September Storm yearling, both fillies.

Crawford had a winner on Saturday at Carlisle where he saddled the Flemensfirth mare Now Let Go, ridden by his brother Steven, to land the bumper at odds of 4/7.
