4yo bg - Robin Des Champs - Lost Prairie (Be My Native)

A €23,000 purchase as a foal at the Goffs December Sale in 2012, having been bred by Laura Devitt and Anne Daly, Prairienative is the sixth foal out of an unraced Be My Native mare who has produced two winners: Final Gift, a three-time winner on the track over trips between 2m4f-2m6f, and Dunraven Prince, winner of four point-to-points in Britain.

The son of Robin Des Champs hails from the family of the 15-time winner Young Hustler, whose greatest success came in the 1993 Grade 1 Royal & Sun Alliance Novices’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival for Nigel Twiston-Davies.

BOCASIEN DESBOIS (FR)

5yo grg - Smadoun - Quocasienne (Ungaro)

Bocasien Desbois, a French-bred son of Smadoun, the sire of Alan King’s 2015 Hennessy Gold Cup winner Smad Place and Grade 1 victor Nacarat, is just the fifth runner that the now deceased sire has had in Irish point-to-points, with his only previous winner, Dounikos, a four-year-old maiden winner at Punchestown in 2015 for Gordon Elliott and Gigginstown House Stud.

Bred by Earl Guittet Desbois, he was purchased for €10,000 as a store at the Goffs Land Rover Sale and is the second foal of an unraced Ungaro mare who is the half-sister to four track winners, three of who enjoyed success on the flat.

Bred by David Moran, Ballyvic Boru is the first foal out of a Deploy mare who ran once in a Limerick bumper, carrying her breeder’s colours. She is a half-sister to Mythical Warrior, a two-mile, three-furlong maiden hurdle winner for Jonjo O’Neill on good to firm, and High Aspirations, a three-mile Irish point to-point winner at Ballybragget for ‘Shark’ Hanlon, before winning four races under rules for Michael Blake between two-mile half furlong and three miles, one furlong over fences.

5yo chg - Vinnie Roe - Dollar Bay (Beau Sher)

Bought by Tom Keating for €18,500 as a four-year-old at the 2015 Tattersalls Ireland August National Hunt Sale, the son of Vinnie Roe is out of a Beau Sher mare who ran twice without success for Francis Crowley.

The sixth foal she has produced, De Dollar Man is a half-brother to John Clifford’s dual track winner Booley Bay, also the winner of an open maiden at Lydstep last season.

4yo - bg - Darsi - Murphys Appeal (Lord Of Appeal)

A fourth four-year-old maiden point to-point success for the sire Darsi, with this bay gelding being the first foal of a Lord Of Appeal mare who twice finished placed on the track for Peter Bowen over two miles, three furlongs and two miles, five furlongs. The mar is a half-sister to the listed chase winner Willie John Daly.

5yo chg - Black Sam Bellamy - Bonne Anniversaire (Alflora)

The seventh foal of an unraced Alflora mare who has already produced a pair of track winners in Keith Reveley’s dual victor Samedi Noir, and the Jeremy Scott-trained Grey Missile, this son of Black Sam Bellamy, is by the sire of Grade 2 winner The Giant Bolster. He was purchased for €25,000 as a store at the 2014 Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale. The five-year-old is from the family of the multiple graded-winner Royal Derbi and Grade 2-placed Alph.

4yo - bg - Jeremy - Get A Few Bob Back (Bob Back)

A first four-year-old maiden victory for the deceased dual-purpose sire Jeremy, who has had eight runners between the flags to date.

The flat Group 2 winner has produced a number of smart hurdlers including Jer’s Girl and the ill-fated Our Conor, to date, while his sole previous pointing winner was Ard Na Carraig, a five-year-old winner at Ballysteen last season for Raymond Beresford.

Bred by Michael Rowland, Jerrysback was purchased by Ian Ferguson as a yearling for €28,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland November National Hunt Sale and is out of a Bob Back mare who was placed on six occasions under rules for Sean Treacy.

5yo bg - Westerner - Nostra (Limnos)

Like the similarly owned four-year-old maiden winner Jerrysback, Ballyhome, who was bred by Conna Stud, was purchased by Ian Ferguson as a yearling, on this occasion for €28,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland February National Hunt Sale. The son of Westerner is out the smart Limnos racemare Nostra, who won seven races in France for Serge Fouster, including a four-year-old chase at Auteuil where she beat David Pipe’s subsequent multiple graded winner Madison Du Berlais.

A notable winner for Coolmore stallion Flemensfirth, who has now sired 350 Irish point-to-point winners, including a number of smart four-year-old maiden winners last season, for example, Fitzhenry and Caderyn.

Bred by Katie and Clare Gorman, this bay gelding was purchased for €27,000 as a store at the Goffs Land Rover Sale and is the first foal of an unraced Saint Cyrien mare who is a half-sister to Nigel Twiston-Davies’ Grade 2 winner Mahogany Blaze, a horse who amassed over €250,000 in prize money, and also to the Phillip Hobbs-trained six-time winner Calusa Crystal.

5yo bg - Kayf Tara - Dancing Dasi (Supreme Leader)

The second British-bred winner of the new point-to-point season, this son of Kayf Tara was bred by J.L. Lightfoot and was purchased for €22,000 as a store at the Tattersalls Ireland August National Hunt Sale.

The second foal of a Supreme Leader mare, Dancing Darsi, who was a two-time hurdle winner for Victor Dartnell (two miles, two miles three furlongs), she is from the family of the Grade 2-winning hurdler Powerstation, Welsh National winner Mini Sensation, and of St Pirran, the winner of the Grand Annual Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.
