THERE was a happy group of owners celebrating at Wolverhampton last Saturday when the Anthony McCann-trained Spiral Galaxy won the one-mile, four-furlong handicap at 16/1 for the Up Monaghan Syndicate.

Anthony explained: “They are all friends of Oliver Brady’s and a good few of us are in the syndicate including myself. That’s the back of a Monaghan shirt being held up and some of us are involved in the Shabra Charity, founded by Oliver and Rita Shah. I’m one of the directors and Mairead Liston is also involved.’’

The late, great Oliver must have been sprinkling his magic dust as Anthony has three winners over three days, the other two being Pushaq at Gowran Park and Little Camacho at Down Royal.
