THE first major fashion stakes of the Irish racing calendar takes place at Naas Racecourse tommorrow on Winter Ladies Day.

Centrepiece of the action off track will be the Hugh Statham Goldsmith & Jewellers-sponsored best dressed competition.

The winner pockets a stunning Raymond Weil watch worth more than €2,250 and there are also bracelets worth €190 each for the four runners-up.

Judges will be stylist Ingrid Hoey, and Anna Fortune of the Kildare Post who don’t want skimpy summer dresses or bare legs but an unusual head piece, a well-cut coat and someone who has put a great look together.
