THE European and Mediterranean Horseracing Federation (EMHF) and the European Student Horseracing Federation (ESHF) have announced the creation of the EMHF Fellowship Observer competition open to all members of racing societies affiliated to the ESHF.

The winner of the Fellowship Observer will be invited and have their expenses paid to present their ideas to the next EMHF General Assembly planned to be an in-person event in Warsaw, Poland on May 15th and 16th 2021, all being well for travel.

The EMHF’s members are the racing authorities for thoroughbred racing in its 26 member countries. Key administrators from these racing authorities form the delegates to the General Assembly.

Members of the ESHF are invited to submit a paper of no more than 500 words on the subject: What should racing administrators in the European and Mediterranean region do to encourage greater participation in horseracing among young adults and, in particular, among students?`

This paper must list the member’s university society and be submitted to paullkhan@euromedracing.eu by January 31st 2021. Submissions will be judged by a panel selected from the EMHF’s executive council.

For students who wish to participate, the ESHF consists of the horse racing societies of Trinity College Dublin, University of Cambridge, University of St Andrews, University College Dublin, University College Cork, University of Limerick, National University of Ireland Galway, Maynooth University, Durham University, The University of Nottingham, and Ulster University. A terrific opportunity for student racing fans.
