Come on Ireland

BEST of luck to the Irish Stablestaff Association’s soccer team who play their annual match against an England XI in Newmarket at 7pm today (Saturday).

The match will be played under floodlights on Newmarket Town’s all-weather pitch. Perhaps we could play the return leg at Dundalk Stadium on polytrack?

SLIGO Racecourse manager Kathryn Foley has been in touch to tell us that their members club is organising a day away at Fairyhouse races on Sunday, December 4th, the second day of that track’s Winter Festival. A bus will leave Sligo Racecourse at 8am. For €50 anyone travelling will enjoy entry to the races, dinner afterwards in Dunboyne Castle Hotel, tea/coffee and scones en route and the transfers. Contact the racecourse for more details. ”

Mark Boylan sent in this picture of the UL Horse Racing Society on their recent visit to Gordon Elliott’s yard. They would like to thank Gordon, his team and particularly assistant trainer Olly Murphy for looking after them so well on the day. “It was an experience which our members thoroughly enjoyed, being both exciting for form lovers and insightful for those who are just learning about the sport. Olly was a fantastic guide!’’
