HORSE Racing Ireland’s decision a few years ago to take a stand at the National Ploughing Championships continues to pay dividends. Once again their tent in Screggan this week was hugely popular as the public popped in to hear some top racing personalities interviewed including, Davy Russel, Barry Geraghty, Danny Mullins, Ruby Walsh and Pat Smullen.

HRI’s Barbara White reported: “I’d particularly like to thank all the jockeys who helped us over the three days. I really appreciate the effort then all took to get through the traffic and the mud, especially on Wednesday, and to give their time so generously to help us promote racing. You could hear a pin drop during the interviews which showed the respect the audience have for the jockeys and the interest they have in racing.”
