IT’S that time of year again when the hard working local committee stage the multiple sclerosis charity sweepstakes at Fairyhouse Racecourse which takes place on Saturday, February 21st at the Bobbyjo Chase meeting.
This fundraiser, which first started in 1994, has raised much needed funds for this very worthy cause, thanks to the support of so many riders, trainers, owners and sponsors for which they are most grateful.
Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic neurological disease of the central nervous system, affecting over 12,000 people in Ireland. It often affects young people in the prime of their lives. The monies raised from the charity sweepstakes goes directly to help the MS society to further develop its on-going services in the care centre and to support people with MS and their families.
The race is open to four-year-olds and upwards and also to point-to-point horses.
If you are an enthusiastic rider with a winning streak, or you would like to give a stablelad/lass an opportunity, why not face the challenge and enjoy the fun while supporting this very worthy cause?
