BROADCASTER and racing writer Kevin Blake married Deirdre Moloney last weekend and he told The Irish Field: “Our original wedding and honeymoon were cancelled last May. With so much ongoing uncertainty about when a full wedding will be permitted and practical, we decided to kick on with the most important part. We were only allowed to have ourselves, my best man Ronan and Deirdre’s sister/maid of honour Orla at the ceremony, but it was a lovely day. I’m a very lucky man!

“When something approaching normality returns, we’ll belatedly get all our family and friends together for the sort of party we had originally planned.” Best of luck to both.

Biddy all set for racing

EXCELLENT news from Limerick as reported by David Raleigh on breakingnews.ie. Racing fan, Biddy Connolly (101) is absolutely delighted to have been vaccinated against Covid-19 recently.

Biddy is a great fan of fellow Limerick native J.P. McManus and his horses, and of the Limerick hurling team. She can’t wait to see them back on the pitch this year winning another All-Ireland championship.

From Meanus, Co Limerick, Biddy received the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine alongside healthcare staff at the HSE-run St Ita’s Community Nursing Unit, Newcastle West.
