THANKS to Dawn Leadon Bolger for this uplifting story.

“It was such a wonderful evening at Gowran Racecourse on May 9th. My grandmother, 85-year-old Eva Leadon and my 95-year-old grandfather, Frank Leadon, attended the races to see their filly My Snowdrop whom they own a leg in as part as of the Swordlestownlittle Syndicate trained by John Oxx and ridden by Gary Halpin.

“Eva, who has been battling cancer, was overjoyed to see the daughter of Lilbourne Lad ran a very respectable seventh.

“She picked a couple of winners from the racecard and had a debrief with Mr Oxx after the race. Eva is very eager to get to the next race meeting.

“I can safely say this year’s 1000 Guineas winner couldn’t have kept up with her pace back into the parade ring. “Racing truly is the best medicine.’’
