THE INS Breeding & Racing Club braved the misty conditions to enjoy another great day out last Sunday when they were treated to a tour of the Irish National Stud and a day’s racing at Naas Racecourse. Members were shown their two mares, Veronica Falls and Ksenia, who are in foal to Dragon Pulse and Gale Force Ten respectively.

Invincible Spirit was a huge hit with the club members and he is of course the sire of their three-year-old race filly Invincible Lia. She was sixth on her debut and is in training with Willie McCreery, along with the club’s Showcasing two-year-old.

They were also shown Worthadd who is the sire of the club’s foal sold at the Goffs November Foal Sale last year for €38,000.

Gale Force Ten and Dragon Pulse also strutted their stuff for the club which was of particular interest as the club will have foals by these sires to sell this November.

Club members visited the breeding shed to see a cover and viewed the new-born foals in the Sun Chariot yard. After the tour of the stud, they visited Naas Racecourse for Cheltenham Trials Day where they enjoyed a delicious meal and some competitive racing action.

Memberships are still available in the club and interested parties should contact Ciarán De Barra on cdebarra@irishnationalstud.ie or 045 521251.
