I’ve been to the Cheltenham Festival twice and now both DRFs. Without doubt the Leopardstown experience is so superior, in my opinion. Racing fans in the North and South need to do more to support/promote it. I vow to bring an army down from Belfast next year, but a nice army.

Amazing how defensive people are over the Dublin racing festival. Had Cheltenham produced that number of non-runners you wouldn’t be able to move for criticism.

Michael Gannon @eachwayonlyway

They will throw the River Nore on Gowran during the summer for 40-60 flat handicaps and can’t get ground right for one biggest meetings of year disappointing for everyone fields cutting up leopardstown

Was on Luas telling a young one that Simon Rowlands piece was worth reading in her free Irish Field out of Leopardstown. She gave one of those awkward laugh that meant f**k off freako. Her loss (money wise)

Jockeys who win in driving finishes generally get far too much credit, but Ruby was brilliant there on Bellshill. Waited till half way up run in to really ask for everything. Too many jockeys go from bridle to all out in 3 strides. That was so good to watch.

Emma Berry @CollingsBerry

La Bague Au Roi and Apple’s Jade two wonderful stars of the weekend, beating the boys, but to find more of these really good mares and to ensure NH filly foals have proper value at the sales, it’s important to have a decent programme of mares’ races, inc. at the major festivals.

Ger Lawton @GerLawton

No sign of the anti Ruby Walsh brigade tonight....He was brilliant today on his two winners today. Class is permanent. #DublinRacingFestival

I have no comment on coursing, but I do note that Sir Mark has stated he is against the use of an air-cushioned, foam-filled whip on the quarters of a half-ton horse. I am not bright enough to follow the logic, are you?

Poor old Liam Neeson. If you knew some of things I’ve envisaged in my mind over the years, it would frighten the life out of you.
