FANCY Blue, who credited Donnacha O’Brien with his first Group 1 winner as a trainer when successful in the Prix de Diane, is likely to reappear in either France or Ireland next month.

“She’s in great form and is having a little break at the minute and the plan is that she’ll more than likely run on Irish Champions Weekend. Whether she runs in Ireland or in the Vermeille in France that weekend has yet to be decided, but she’ll run somewhere that weekend,” he said.

“She is in the Matron, but I’d say that she won’t run in that and she’ll either go for the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown or the Vermeille in France that weekend. After that, she’ll be aimed at Arc weekend and we’ll look at more options for her abroad later in the year.

“She is in the Matron at Leopardstown, but I’d say that is unlikely. A mile and a quarter is a good trip for her and she might get a bit further I’d imagine, so the Irish Champion and the Vermeille is what we are looking at for her at the moment.

“She is in great form and is fresh and well and she has had a great season to date.

“She has thrived during the summer and I am looking forward to getting her going again next month.”
