Western Frontier, a son of Scat Daddy, performed with credit on his debut chasing home two useful and more experienced colts. That should bring him forward and although he has a much bigger field to face here, he rates a confident selection.

Tuo Sogno looks like an interesting newcomer for Dermot Weld but faces a tough task in a field this size on heavy ground. Third Of March caught the eye when third to Lethal Promise on his debut but that was back in June and suggesting he might have had a small problem since. Captainofthebounty, the selection’s stablemate, didn’t look liek anything special on his debut, but so often a Ballydoyle juvenile can improve significantly next time up and he wears first-time blinkers.

Angelic Light was a huge disappointment in the Moyglare but the run was too bad to be a true reflection of her ability and back down in trip and in class, she looks worth another chance. On her penultimate run, she was five and a half lengths too good for subsequent Cork winner Mary Salome and a replication of that sort of standard should see her bang there.

Joseph O’Brien’s Never No More looked like a colt worth following when winning on his second start at Dundalk and if there is a potential top class horse in this race, it’s likely to be him.

Eclipse Storm warrants respect for winning on his debut while of the other fillies, Mia Mento bounced back to something like her best in a listed contest at Fairyhouse last time out.

Lost Treasure improved markedly on anything he’d done before when finishing only one length away from Mabs Cross in the Prix de l’Abbaye last weekend and if he can reproduce that sort of effort, he is undoubtedly the one to beat. That said, there are reasons to take him on given his only defeat in his last three runs came at this track and he has a quick turnaround now.

An alternative at a potentially bigger price is British raider Clive Cox, who should have his favoured heavy ground conditions. He bounced back to form by winning the Ayr Silver Cup last time and he was an impressive winner of a big sales race on his last run in Ireland.

Smash Williams deserves to get his head in front having run consistently well all season and he should be bang there again while Downforce is a threat retrning to this course and distance, which he won over early in the season.

A chance is taken on Amaretto Stone who ran a huge race in a maiden at this course two weeks ago. She was put up 10lbs for that effort but it could be argued that is a lenient assessment when you consider she finished ahead of horses rated higher than her new mark when last seen. Lightly-raced, she is also open to further improvement.

Dash D’Or won impressively at Naas last time out but she has a 13lb higher mark to contend with now and that could help the horse she beat, Mercury, turn the tables. Adrian Joyce’s gelding has been running consistently well on each of his last four starts.

Chocolate Music could be the answer to this listed contest. Jessica Harrington’s filly was last seen finishing fifth in the Group 3 won by stablemate Sparkle’N’Joy at Leopardstown on Irish Champions Weekend and that race is working out well, with Iridessa becoming the latest to boost the form with her win in the Group 1 Fillies Mile at Newmarket yesterday.

Both British raider Accordance (trained by Mark Johnston) and Peach Tree were found out at Group 2 level at Doncaster last time but if the latter can run like she did when chasing home Just Wonderful, she can bounce back here.

A chance is taken on Pleasure Dome, a mare who has improved under the care of Willie Mullins and who could be well treated now off a flat mark of 85.

The five-year-old has improved 23lbs over hurdles on her last four starts and went well when chasing home Awayinthewest on soft ground at Galway last time.

Mullins has a strong hand here and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see Chelkar put up a much better effort than his disappointing Galway run, which was too bad to be true.

Before that he finished fourth in the Ascot Stakes which was a huge run and he should do better tomorrow. Davids Charm is interesting on the flat, and could improve again while the lightly-raced Cliffs Of Dooneen, who finished fifth to Limini at Leopardstown last time, should be more at home over this longer trip.

Pushaq is an intriguing contender. After an impressive five-length win at Gowran Park last time, he was raised to a mark of 73, but following that, his connections appealed that assessment successfully, and he runs today off a mark of 70. To spin things more, the horse he beat at Gowran, won impressively next time out at Naas. There seems every chance Pushaq is a well treated horse and he is taken to make it two on the bounce.

There are no shortage of dangers, not least Joseph O’Brien’s Best Not Argue, who is two from two having made the switch to Piltown and should put up another big run, despite running here off a 13lbs higher mark.

Amanaat has put up a string of good performances, two of them coming at this track, and he is taken to get his head back in front for Denis Hogan. He handles soft ground and if he can reproduce the same level he got to when running second to Only Spoofing over this course and distance last month, he’ll be the one to beat.

Nigg Bay is another course-and-distance winner who could go well, the worry being soft ground, while Donal Kinslla’s Ducky Mallon has hit form recently and can run well again at this course.
