2:00 Irish EBF Median Sires Series Maiden 6f

Street Kid can score for the seriously in-form Shane Foley and Jessica Harrington partnership. The Street Boss colt ran eye-catchingly first time out, leading most of the way only to be headed late on at Navan.

Foley reported that his mount ran very green throughout that race and with that in mind, he should be a sharper proposition now.

Tar Heel should put his experience to good use also, improving to finish second on his second start, behind a potentially very good horse in Aidan O’Brien’s Swiss Ace.

Harrington and Foley could be difficult to beat again with course-and-distance winner Sussex Garden. There was much to like about this Acclamation filly on her debut given she was trapped in on the rail but then produced beautifully by Foley to run down rivals. She may have been worth more than the winning margin and can use her course experience now.

Mother Earth ran third in the Albany and clearly has strong claims on that form, while Luminesce won first time out for Ger Lyons at Fairyhouse. She looked green that day, taking an age to put her head in front so she can improve now on her second run.

SELECTION: SUSSEX GARDEN

A tentative vote goes to the Johnny Levins-trained Eleuthera who has ran well on both of his starts since racing resumed. The first of those runs was a third to Nordic Passage over this course and distance and he probably just didn’t get home when second over seven furlongs at Fairyhouse, having travelled well before getting collared late.

Conor O’Dwyer’s mare Pulsating is another who has run nicely this term, most notably last time out at Fairyhouse when she was a half-length second to Rain Or Shine. Coming back to this trip should suit her.

Madaket Mystery took the eye on her seasonal and handicap debut at Leopardstown, staying on nicely into fifth behind the well-treated Confidence High. She is entitled to improve now and she has some notable form last season, having finished third to Foran Equine Series final winner Lustown Baba at Cork and then third again in a 22-runner maiden at this course.

Darkest has the potential to be well-treated off a mark of 78 on her second start of the season but needs to show more than she has been. Funny Little Ways can be excused for his effort at Leopardstown (rider lost irons) before he ran a good second at Limerick on his latest start.

Moore Street Wise can take this maiden on his second start, following a promising third at Roscommon. Stepping up to a mile should suit Paddy Twomey’s three-year-old colt who also wears a first-time visor which could bring further improvement.

The well-bred Paradiso hasn’t lived up to expectations so far but is dangerous to ignore, while Ivan The Great ran nicely when third at this course already this season. Kassaba caught the eye on her only start last season, a staying-on fourth at Leopardstown, and would be interesting if she was a positive in the market.

4:40 #ShareInTheFun At Syndicates.Racing Blackwater Handicap (Premier Handicap) 1m

Only 10 runners but this could turn out to be a good race in time. The one that will appeal to many is Baraniya, who showed she had come forward significantly when taking a good Roscommon maiden. A mark of 87 might underestimate her, however at the bottom of the weights, Meaningful Vote makes appeal also.

Fozzy Stack’s colt was very unlucky to bump into a similarly well-handicapped rival in Sonnyboyliston at Gowran, the pair of them pulling nine lengths clear, but that clearly marked him down as a significant improver from what he showed as a two-year-old. He is essentially up 11lbs now (1lb out of the handicap) but he has the scope to improve again.

The step up to 10 furlongs looks a positive for Even So, who just about brings the best form into this contest courtesy of her Irish 1000 Guineas fifth. A daughter of Camelot, she stayed on gradually at the Curragh, and that Group 1 form coupled with her scope for improvement over this longer trip could make her difficult to beat.

Silence Please is the obvious danger. She needed every yard of the 10 furlongs for her Salsabil Stakes win at Navan, getting up late to deny her subsequent Group 3-winning stablemate One Voice.

SELECTION: EVEN SO

The British raider Art Power could be difficult to beat. Tim Easterby’s colt is progressing rapidly and showed no signs of stopping when an easy winner of the Holyroodhouse Handicap at Royal Ascot last month. If he improves again, on this just his fifth ever start, he should win.

Millisle brings in Group 1 form and showed up much better in the Commonwealth Cup. This is a little easier and she should run well. Johnny Murtagh’s Koolasice could be anything after demolishing a Fairyhouse maiden last time out.
