HOPEFULLY all those with sound horses and ponies are heading over to Tyrella today for the annual Saintfield Horse Show which is organised as a charity fund-raiser by Joan Cunningham.

Joan was delighted with the response to the buses she organised to take people down to, and back from, the Dublin Horse Show last week. “The bus run was a massive success. Facebook was full of it: everybody was singing its praises.

“I also got lots of text messages and emails thanking me for organising it and everybody wants me to do it again next year. It looks like another annual event … if my health sticks it!”

PLACE TO BE

Next Saturday, the Bright family’s farm on Lylehill Road East outside Templepatrick is the place to be as the East Antrim Hounds are running not just a team chase but also a gate jumping competition in the afternoon, after which the charity hog roast and barbeque takes place.
